This guide explains how to connect your social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to the icons on your website so visitors can follow you directly.
Step 1: Log In to Your Website Editor
- At the top of your IO account, click the globe icon labeled Websites.
- If you manage more than one website, you’ll see a list — locate the site you want to update.
- Click Admin Login for that specific site.
- This will open your WordPress Dashboard.
- From the left-hand menu, select Pages → All Pages.
- Find Home – Front Page (Elementor).
- Click Edit with Elementor to open the site editor.
Step 2: Get Your Social Media Links
Before editing, go to each of your social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and copy the URL for your profile or page.
You will paste these links into your icons in the next step.
Step 3: Edit Existing Social Media Icons
- In Elementor, click the banner labeled Edit Header (this is where your icons are).
- Click on a social media icon you want to update.
- In the left-hand panel, find the Link field.
- Paste your social media URL into this field.
- Repeat these steps for each icon you want to update.
- Click Update (bottom left corner) to save your changes.
Step 4: Add New Social Media Icons
If you want to add additional icons (for example, TikTok, YouTube, or LinkedIn):
- Click Edit Header again.
- In the left panel’s search bar, type Social Icons.
- Drag and drop the Social Icons widget to where you want the icons displayed.
- Click + Add Item to add a new icon.
- Hover over the new icon and click Icon Library.
- In the left sidebar, select All Icons, then search for the platform you want (e.g., “TikTok”).
- Select the icon and click Insert.
- In the Link field, paste your social media URL.
- Click Update to save your changes.
Step 5: Verify Your Links
After saving, open your live site and check that your social media icons link correctly.
If your updates don’t appear right away:
- Try doing a hard refresh on your browser (Windows: Ctrl + F5, Mac: Command + Shift + R).
- If the changes still don’t show, clear your browser cache or view the site in a private/incognito window.
- Some caching plugins or systems may also delay updates — changes will appear once the cache refreshes.
