Web Server Transition away from Siteground

DEADLINE TO COMPLETE: Oct 1st, 2024.

We need to move your website to a new server to improve website reliability. The process is automated, but to initiate this, we need you to change your DNS by setting your nameserver records to:
wave.rental.software (or wavens.inflatableoffice.com)
nap.rental.software (or napns.inflatableoffice.com)

Note: If you are using WIX or a host that doesn't allow nameserver (NS) changes, you will first need to transfer your domain to a new registrar. We recommend namecheap for this.

Why do i need to do this?
Our hosting partner siteground (where your site is hosted now) has been fairly stable, but not to our level of standards, so we have built a more reliable web hosting solution with redundant servers.

What about changes to my DNS?
Since you are changing your nameserver to us, all your DNS records will be copied to our servers.
We have built a way for you to make changes to your DNS under Settings > Wordpress > click your website > click Advanced Options (at the top) > scroll down to see DNS.

Can I just change my A record and not the nameserver?
Unfortunately not, as our active failover system relies on control of this in order to detect and switch to our 2nd web server if the 1st one has a failure.

What about email?
Your email will stay hosted the same as it is now. We copy all your MX records, SPF, and DKIM records (for common entries) so things will remain the same.

How much does this cost?
The storage, backups, hosting and SSL certificate with us is included in the wordpress module fee you are already paying for. You only need to pay your domain register a yearly fee (usually under $20/year) to maintain your domain name.

Will there be any downtime?
During the transition, there will be about 1-2 minutes of downtime while we generate a new SSL certificate after the site is moved.

Once moved, if one of the web servers is down, there could be about 1-2 minutes of downtime while it transitions to the 2nd server.

Redundant servers do not prevent issues with plugins or code breaking the site though, but we do store 7 days of back-ups and all sites are monitored for issues so we can detect and repair issues rapidly.
