Tags and Tag Searching for Enhanced Inventory Management

Introduction:
The Tags feature enables you to assign and search tags on various entities—including leads, rentals, and workers—to improve filtering and organization. This update streamlines how you group data, making it easier to run reports and perform targeted actions.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Navigate to Settings>Inventory>Select Desired Inventory Item.

2. Select Extra Details then scroll to the bottom of the “Extra Details” section.

3. Enter the relevant tag(s) using Enter or comma to save.

4. As you type a tag, the system will suggest existing tags that match your input.

Tag Management for inventory items.

1. To manage tags across the system, use the dedicated Tags management page which allows you to merge, edit, add, or delete tags.

2. Select Inventory when creating this new tag for an inventory item.

3. Create desired inventory tag.

Note: The underlying tags table (inoff_tags) has been updated to include an ID and Type column to support item-specific tagging.

• Applicable Entities: Tags can be attached to leads, rentals, and workers.
• Auto-Suggestions: Auto-complete functionality suggests existing tags as you type, minimizing duplicates.
• Sidebar Search Integration: The tag search is automatically consolidated in the global search sidebar, enabling you to filter results by tag.

Use Cases:
• Quickly filter leads to review and follow up with customers associated with specific tags.
• Organize rental items by grouping similar equipment using tags, aiding in inventory oversight.
• Assign tags to workers for skill set or scheduling preferences, simplifying workforce management.
