Our Interchange Plus program is designed for merchants who prefer cost-plus pricing, where the actual interchange costs established by the card brands are passed through directly and a fixed markup is added. Depending on your transaction mix, this can be more cost-effective than a flat rate pricing model.

If you're currently processing with another provider, send us a recent processing statement and we'll gladly compare your options and help determine whether Flat Rate or Interchange Plus is the better fit.
Important: Interchange Plus pricing is generally most beneficial for businesses processing higher volumes or accepting a large percentage of debit cards and lower-cost card types. The best fit depends on your specific processing mix, which is why we recommend reviewing a recent processing statement before making a decision.
Important: The percentages listed throughout this article represent the markup added to the underlying interchange costs. As is standard with all Interchange Plus processing programs, merchants are also responsible for interchange fees, card brand assessments, sponsorship fees, and other network fees established by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, sponsoring banks, and related payment networks. These fees are passed through as incurred and are not retained by InflatableOffice.
Important: These rates represent our standard pricing template. Before signing any processing agreement, always review your application to ensure the rates and fees match your expectations.
More Details - Credit Card Processing

As a result, your exact processing cost may vary from transaction to transaction depending on the card type, rewards program, transaction method, and other factors determined by the card brands.

Fee Explanations
What Is Interchange?
Interchange is the portion of a transaction fee that is established by the card brands and issuing banks. These rates vary based on factors such as card type, rewards programs, whether the card is present, and how the transaction is processed.
Under an Interchange Plus pricing model, these costs are passed through directly and a fixed percentage markup and transaction fee are added.
Transaction Fee
A transaction fee applies when a payment or refund successfully processes.
Under this Interchange Plus program, a $0.25 transaction fee is assessed in addition to the applicable interchange costs and percentage markup.
Authorization Fee
An authorization occurs any time the processor attempts to verify a card with the cardholder's bank.
Authorization fees apply whether a transaction is approved or declined.
Examples include successful payments, declined payments, invalid card numbers, expired cards, failed transactions, and refund authorizations.
PCI Compliance
PCI compliance is included at no additional charge.
The PCI Non-Compliance Fee only applies if required PCI compliance steps are not completed.
Merchants using InflatableOffice's integrated payment solution and hosted payment pages should generally have a straightforward compliance process. If you need assistance, our team is happy to help.
Chargeback Fee
A chargeback occurs when a customer disputes a transaction with their card issuer. Chargeback fees are standard throughout the payment processing industry.
Retrieval Request Fee
A retrieval request occurs when a card issuer asks for supporting documentation before deciding whether to initiate a chargeback.
Account Validation Fee
When ACH payments are used, account validation may be performed to verify that a customer's bank account information is valid before processing.
ACH Return Item Fee
This fee applies when a customer's bank rejects or returns an ACH payment. Common reasons include insufficient funds, invalid account information, or a closed bank account.
Merchant NSF Fee
This fee applies if the processor attempts to debit fees from your business bank account and the debit is rejected due to insufficient funds or invalid account information.
Additional Notes
- Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are supported.
