IO Phone supports the use of emojis in text messages you send or receive. For receiving emojis, you really do not need to do anything as long as your computer supports displaying them.
To send emojis, you will want to get a browser plugin most likely so you can find the emoji you are looking for and insert it into the text message you are composing. Some operating systems support them without a browser plugin, but remember, not all browser and operating systems support emojis at this time. Below are some links to plugins for common browsers.
