Customer wants to postpone event

I have a customer that has fully paid for an event, but something came up and they need to move the rental to another date, the new date is unknown at the moment because it is pending on weather. Is there a way for me to do this?

Put it in a rain date status then is that same lead again with a new contract when they come back for the new date

I have created you a Rain Check Status you can now move this event to this status until you are they are ready to set the date then at that time you would move the status back to the contracted or confirmed status.
