Website Theme Integration

I want to change my website theme but what does integration with the old site (option) do. does it just keep a few features and things from old site to help it be somewhat similar or how is integrated different than just building a whole new theme.

To change your website theme of an existing site we would launch a new site on that domain. It would functionally be a brand new site that is already integrated with IO.
You inventory and categories would remain intact.
