How do I send a link to a customer to upload an attachment and have it go to the IO attachment list?

I've looked through the variable and don't see one listed (except to view a list of attachements already received). I want to send a link in an email to the customer to upload an attachment that we require (tax exempt certificates, drivers licenses, etc) and have it go to their lead in the attachment section.

Here is the article for the attachment code. You should set this up on your quote update page which I have made active for you.

Yes I have it on the Quote page already but the customer didn't do it at the time of the quote. So I can't have him go back and go through a quote again. I just want to email him the link to attach it and send it to Attachments under his name in IO.

You can add it to the quote updates, and then create an email and add the quote update link to the email and they can fill it out there.

Oh, I didn't realize there was a Quote "update" page separate from the Quote page. I will see if I can figure it out.

I've looked under Email Center, Online Quote, and Document Center but cant find Quote Updates anywhere. What settings link do I click on to find this?

The quote updates are in your Document center under the pages.

ok. I tried putting it in an email in a customer lead but the only Quote item that populates is just plain old Customer Quote. Can you tell me step by step how to send this Quote update to a customer? Also, in looking at the Quote Update insided the Pages category in the Document center, I don't see a section called upload attachment or anything like that. Does it just show up behind the scenes if I can get the template to offer me Quote UPdate versus just Customer Quote? I can't even find a way to add it as a document to send to the customer. All it shows is signable and waiver.

I have created you a manual email that I have attached the link for the quote update. I named it Testing IO Quote Update, I have made it active so that you can see it, you can edit it anyway you want and you can also create an automation so that this email will automatically go out to each and every customer.

I couldn't get clicking on the "here" to show me what the customer will see, and I couldn't tell from code view what they will see either so I thought I'd just email it to myself. However it gives an error message when trying to email it.

Good news is that the email went this time. Bad news is that it is just making them start all over again on a Quote that is already booked but they just need to upload their drivers license. (including making them answer all my setup questions again). How can I get it to acknowledge what is already booked but just have the link to upload an attachment that I asked for? (I can use this for drivers licenses or tax exempt certificates)

You don't have the attachment button added to this form, we can remove all the other questions.

All I want for this is just the attachment button in that email. Can you do that and then I can individualize the email as I send them telling them what I want them to upload. They don't need to see the whole contract or a new quote at all. Just want them to send me an attachment and have it go to the attachment section on their lead (so I guess have the email somehow identify what Lead I am sending the request from so it put the attachment they send back directly into their lead.

Thank you,

I created an email template called ATTACHMENT REQUEST.

I went into my test lead

#79027133

and started an email and used the Attachment Request template and sent it to my self.

I clicked on the links inside that email and uploaded the files to test each one, hit reply and all I got back into my email box is a reply but NO attachments. I also checked the lead it was sent from and there are no attachments showing.

Why did the attachments not come through and go into the lead I sent the email from? Heck the attachments did not even show up in the email back to me where I could manually save them to my computer then upload them into the lead myself?

I have a developer looking into this, I will keep you updated.
