Emails Sent Through IO Getting Blocked

We are using our own mail server but find that some emails are not getting to customers, but getting blocked by their email provider. When you send these on our behalf are they coming from a static IP? Should we add an include record for IO within our DNS records? Any suggestions for how we can improve deliverability? There isn't anything consistent about the emails that are getting blocked, e.g. spammy subject lines, small amount of text, etc, to make us think it is the email content itself.
