Required Deposit

This last weekend I had a situation where a client called last minute and said, "today, cash". I couldn't find out how to override the required deposit so he could sign the rental agreement.

In this case you would need to print out the contract and have them sign, or after you put in the payment on the lead you would be able to send them the contract to sign after.

That makes sense, having the contract signed before handing over the keys seems like the safest approach. Getting everything documented and signed helps avoid confusion later, especially when the client is in a hurry to collect the rental. slope

Thank you for clarifying the required deposit details! This guidance is incredibly helpful for those of us navigating rental agreements. It truly streamlines the process—much appreciated! slope run

Robert. I have different deposit requirements based on the type of payment the customer is choosing. So for example, if it is Residential cash - no deposit is required. If it is Residential check - 50% is required and they cannot auto book if less than 3 weeks out (so the check has time to come, be deposited, and make sure it clears before party time and then we take it on faith the remaining 50% balance paid by check will clear after the party). If it is Residential credit card - only $50 is required but it too needs to be paid 3 weeks out to test the credit card to make sure it doesn't get clawed back in case it is a stolen credit card. If it is a Church or School customer then they don't have to pay a deposit ahead of time and can pay by check on the day of delivery as those checks have a very slim chance of bouncing. I had IO help me setup these filters so I can't really explain to you how to do it but just wanted to let you know that you can have built in options for the future.
