It's taking TOO LONG to load inventory on leads

Awaiting Reply

We are constantly having to wait for the leads list in each column to load. It's really cumbersome and should be A LOT faster. Most of our bookings are done over the phone, and we have to sit and wait for each category to load, and then if we go back, we have to wait again. Any changes we make just extend the length of time it takes to populate.

We are having the developers take a look. Thank you

I'd like to add that it becomes an even bigger problem when we are building out large events and navigating between categories

Understood. I am updating the developers.

Basic Troubleshooting: Have you cleared your cache on the browser? Have you tried another browser; computer? Does it happen during specific times?

It happens all the time. Regardless of device, account, browser, cache clearing.

Our developers advised they are continuing to work on further optimization and have released a smaller fix that prevents lead changes from stacking multiple inventory searches, so you may notice some improvement.

The remaining 5–10-second delay is caused by the system checking availability separately for every item and each required accessory, such as blowers and extension cords. Larger categories can require dozens of repeated availability and scheduling-conflict checks before displaying. Fully addressing that will require more substantial backend work to calculate and reuse this information more efficiently.

Thanks! This is something I feel needs to be faster in general for those of us that depend on having online quoting off. Which I realize is not a ton of us but...

I don't notice ANY difference.

I will update the developer.

The developer advised a noticeable difference should not be expected at this time – the ticket is still open pending further optimization work, which is not a trivial fix.

Our developers advised they made an improvement to how the inventory loads when searching or navigating between categories on a lead. Items should now appear much sooner, while availability finishes loading in the background. You can continue selecting and adding items without waiting for every availability value to finish.

The update is live (must refresh browser for it to take effect).

Let us know how it works for you, particularly when building larger events or moving between categories. We’d appreciate any feedback, including items that remain loading, unexpected availability values, or other issues you may notice.

Hi Chad,

Following up to see if the improvement is working for you.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

honestly, not sure we like it bc it adds other layers of complexity.

Chad,

Thanks for the honest feedback. Could you tell us which part feels more complex? Seeing the items before availability finishes loading, the availability indicators updating afterward, or something else in the workflow?

Our goal is to make the inventory list usable sooner without changing how you build a lead. If you can share a specific example of where the new behavior makes the process harder, we can review it and make adjustments. This is currently a limited rollout, so we can also return your account to the previous behavior if the new experience is not an improvement.

Thanks!

We still have to wait to see if things are available. Just delays the waiting till it's in the cart instead of waiting upfront. So I could add an item to the lead that is still spinning but once it's in there, I then have to wait for those accessories to say whether they are free. So we just spread out the wait time. IDK how this all works on the back end but what if once the event dates are set, it just starts loading all available items for that date, then refresh if the delivery/return windows are set. I'm not sure what else affects availability. But preloading the inventory would go a long way. Before this fix, every time we entered a category it would have to refresh. So if I added a slide that and then selected it's accessories and went back to add another slide, I'd have to wait to reload. It already loaded once and no dates changed so why does it have to check again?

Does that all make sense?

The developer advised:

Availability depends on more than the event dates. We also account for delivery and return timing, setup and recovery time, quantities already selected, and shared inventory or required accessories. For example, adding one slide can use accessories that another slide also needs, changing what remains available even though the dates haven’t changed. Other bookings and maintenance can change availability too.

Preloading everything when dates are entered would therefore give us an initial snapshot that can become outdated as the event is built. Checking the entire inventory would also calculate items you may never use, while still needing to recheck affected items afterward. That’s why returning to a category can require another check.

The recent update makes the item list usable sooner while those checks finish; it doesn’t make the availability calculations themselves faster.

That said, we’ll be looking at further improving the speed of item searches and availability checks.
