Line Item refund

I want to process a line item refund. What is the best way to do this? I use Global Payments as my processor. I want to refund the generator and service lines.

go into the invoice and change the price of the generator to 0.00 and it will create a credit balance on your lead if they have paid in full already

then go into the lead click on payment and enter -x.xx amount in this box and click charge card it will process as a refund

Would it hurt anything if deleted the line item?

no it will do the same unless you wanted to track the use of the inventory for future events

sometimes a client will call and say give me what i had last time and if you remove it you would loose that history
