The editor for manual emails is initially populated incorrectly.

For example, our "Customer - Contract" template contains data in the head element. When this template is selected by default, that data incorrectly appears in the body instead. Reselecting the template causes the message to be regenerated correctly:

Looks like it is a bug in the editor with the way it first loads the content. We will look for a solution. Thanks.

I think we used to strip the head, so we would put the style in the body on the save. The editor probably corrects it. Is it causing an issue for you?

Yeah, Gmail ignores the style sheet when it's in the body.

Are you certain of that? It's my understanding that Gmail only supports inline styles since otherwise applying them would affect their pages that you are viewing them on, unless they changed that.

These emails display as intended in Gmail when sent automatically and when sent manually after selecting a non-default template.

Gmail doesn't just load the style sheet as is; it interprets it and generates unique class names that apply only to the content of the message.
