Email error - empty key

I'm having an error pop up when trying to send an email through IO. I first noticed it with lead #8677175, but it seems to be happening on all leads now. Error message pasted below. We haven't changed any email settings so I'm not sure why we're getting this message.
Email not sent: Check your SMTP settings under Settings->General Error: empty key
