Tax NY not calculating

I have to 2 order # 933815 and 863033 that are not calculating NY taxes. Both orders had tax previously and suddenly changed to "0". When I try to enter 8.875% the amount is going to the discount line and crediting.

Looking at the log, I see that the event address was not fully entered for either of these leads originally. When that is the case, you must clear the sales tax rate and click update to have the system try again with the proper address enetered. I'll look into the discount issue when typing in a rate. That doesn't seem correct. Thanks!

I am sorry but I still do not understand. For the order for 863033, my coworker had created an invoice and sent and the tax had calculate. When I went to edit to add comments is when the tax for some reason changed to 0 and when I tried to manually enter it did not and instead showed the amount as discount. "

For the other order 933815 I had previously changed the estimate and tax had calculated correctly as well.

Ok, I see what you mean. Since you have automatic sales tax calculation off, the software will grab your tax rate from Settings->Distance Charges->State->NY. It appears the only way to change the sales tax would be to enter in a zero. If you clear it, it will look up the correct rate. Let me know if this happens again. There doesn't seem to be a problem, but that doesn't mean there isn't. If it continues to happen, let us know right away and try to pay attention to any commonality between the times that you see this happen. It will help us resolve it. To get it to reset, simply clear the rate and click update or save.
