SMS Text Functionality

I was looking on the KB but couldn't find anything specific to texting.


What is the proper use case/functionality for sending texts? I see the radio button for email or text when emailing from the event tab of a lead but none of the fields change. What number does it text? What is the content of the text?


Any info on this feature is appreciated.

When you choose the text option, it will send an SMS to the cell number of the lead you are working with. It will send the content in the body of the email. Because text messages are more limited than email in size and display, it's best to simplify the content of what you are sending. Some customers use it to send a contract link quickly to someone for payment.

This doesn't appear to work for us. I created a test lead with my cell phone number and sent a simple text but nothing came through.

Disregard, I think I've figured it out.

When you use the text feature, It is sending to our customers just fine. But the company number and direct number are our landline main phone number. How do we see the responses or get texts back?

You can't currently respond to these messages. We intend to add further customization and functionality to the texting feature, but at the moment it's delivery only from a main account number that you can't adjust.
