I am trying to add a new option and the window flashes and then does not appear.

If you are adding the option from a rental, you may simply need to click on the 'details' tab. Otherwise, you can always add options by selecting the 'All Options' category above the rental list on the inventory page and then choosing 'New Option'.

It sounds like you are editing a rental, then on the Options & PL tab, clicking "A new option." On the right hand side of the screen, it should say, "You are editing an option." If you click over to the "Details" tab, everything will be blank for you to fill in the name and other details of the option itself.
