New optional fields

Solved

The new "optional fields" setting is a little funky. I want to use this for selecting event types, but I don't want a list a mile long, so I'm trying to combine some of the choices like this: "Outdoor: School, Church, or Community Event". However, every comma creates a line separation, making each of those a separate choice. Can you set that up so that hitting "Enter" starts a new choice instead?

Also, while working on this, I decided to turn the field off so it wouldn't show up on the leads until it's ready, but that deleted it. I'm guessing the "on/off" switch is not supposed to function that way.

I don't see any choices in there right now. I'd have to see it to know what you mean, because commas just being there shouldn't cause a new choice.

"show on lead" should probably always be checked (I can't think of a scenario where it wouldn't be, but our developer who wrote that probably thought it would be a good idea for an obscure situation).

The field has a choice of "on" or "off". When it wasn't working correctly, I switched it to "off" thinking that would just make it not show up anywhere, but it deleted the entire thing, so that's why you couldn't see it.

I added it again so you can now see what it's doing. It appears that the only way to separate choices is with a comma. That seems very clunky and will require me to get creative with how I enter each choice in the dropdown.

You were making perfect sense. I didn't realize one of our developers added "select" as a new type of optional field. We had discussed it, but I didn't realize the code actually got written yet. I'll talk with them about changing it. I suppose using a semicolon in your options might be a workaround for now.

We're already using the "Referral" field for our event types. That's working fine, so I'll just leave it that way for now. Thanks

On your end, I would be concerned about letting it sit this way for too long. If other customers use it as is - using commas to separate their choices - then you change how it functions, it could mess things up for them.
