Missing rental items

Is there a way to mark an item as missing on the contract after the event. We rent a lot of silverware and china that comes back missing or broken and we need to bill them for it. Any suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated.
We don't have a feature at this time specifically designed for charging a customer more post-event; but what most of our customers do is use the "Quick Add" feature at the bottom of the Rentals list on the lead to add line items such as "lost cups fee," and then send the customer an updated invoice.
