How to prevent some email reminders from going to "contract sent" statuses
Answered
On our system, we use the brown 'Contract' status to know that a contract with link to pay is out, but we do not reserve inventory until a deposit is paid.
I want the automatic emails to go out such as "reminder about recent quote" , but we do not want emails like "event reminder" to go out. I have the status set-up NOT to reserve inventory, but it's still sending emails reminding customers about their event that they havent even reserved. Suggestions?
If I un-check "lead has contract out to customer", what does that do?
That is the status flag causing the reminders to go out that you don't want going out. It also affects the following by having it on:
- shows the lead on the overview in the payments/deposits/balance due box (and corresponding lead preset filter)
- affects the customers ability to autobook a quote since it is considered booked once a contract status is assigned
- shows in the payroll summary
There are probably more impacts. For instance, I believe since it is the first status in the order to have the contract flag, when you change a lead to that status, a contract is auto created for it. Additionally, when you add a contract to a lead, the status is automatically upgraded to it. Turning off this flag would likely lose those features.
It sounds to me like turning off that flag may be the solution to your issue, though. However, changing status settings is dangerous because the system was built with a certain order in mind. You can get unexpected results that we never considered when modifying your statuses. Please be careful when doing so and test your account after making changes.
