I set up a google calendar gave it permission and nothing is showing up..
I am not sure what i have missed to get it to sync

You have to go to Settings->Google Calendar in IO, and click "new calendar" on the right. There will be some default info in there that we populate but you can edit which template variables you'd like to use for the create of a the events that we'll make in you Gcal.
