Equipment Stats

The problem that I have with the equipment stats is that they do not include any discounts. Very misleading and pretty much worthless to me!

Discounts are shown on their own line item. Most of the time it would be impossible for us to know what rental you want the discount to apply to. In the case that they are evenly distributed, the current report should work just fine. In that case although the numbers will be high, relative to each other, for comparative analysis, they would be accurate. In the case of a promotion that is meant to give a certain item at a discount, if we were to track that better, you are correct that it would be best to apply the discount directly to the item before displaying the statistics. At this time, it's not possible for us to do that, and it would require a significant amount of work to make that change. I'll put it on our list, but it is unlikely to be done soon.

So what you are saying for every customer that buys something online at a discount I would have to go back through an change each contract and take the discount of and apply to each item directly. That makes no sense and would be stupid. The whole idea of having discounts is to show the customer that they got one. If I am applying a 10% discount to the bill it should be applied evenly to all of the items on that bill. Make sense to me! I had a bill for a dunk tank, that was the only thing on the bill, that was out for a 10 day period that was discounted down to $375.00 yet shows in the stats as $1500.00.
I have been very happy with IO but this is very disappointing! Just extra work for me on something that would be fairly easy to correct in most cases on your end.

Like I said, I will put in the change request to look at this. It's not a simple fix though. In the example you brought up, it is a straight forward solution, but there are many times that it is not. There are many times where distributing the discount would result in incorrect statistics. We have to look at changes globally, and all of our customers have different uses that we have to take into account. I'll see if we can come up with something that works for everybody though.
I wouldn't recommend that you go back and distribute the discount. Do you need help pricing your dunk tank for multiple day events so that it comes closer to what you want to charge? $375 is very different from $1500, although, it may have been just a special rate you were offering. Anyway, we are here to help if needed. Thanks.

It is already resulting in incorrect stats! On a side note I don't know if you guys have any sales people, but you are getting killed by ERS on 2 Industry Groups that I belong to on Facebook. Online software comes up all the time and their people Liz and Rob are on there. When a person asks which software to use 90% of the people answer ERS and the representatives are there to close the deal.
