Discount tax calculation not matching Quickbooks

I am using a discount in the rental items to modify the total. Example "preferred customer -$10". I did not notice it being incorrect before, but this time the tax did not match Quickbooks. See lead #976559.

Rental item is $339

Preferred Customer item -10

Distance $95

Subtotal is $424

Tax is $41.23 (IO)

When the discount is placed instead in the actual Discounts field on the right, the sales tax equals QB at $40.28. Why is this? The subtotal of Rental items is $329 + Delivery.

Your inventory item 'Preferred Customer item' is using a price that is marked as non-taxed. Go to that item in inventory, click the price name under Monday and you'll see it marked as not taxed. Switch it to taxed and recalculate your lead to correct the tax amount.
