Date Read and Time Read

Answered

I have tried to get the time read and date read to populate on my quotes and it doesnt seem to work

I have tested with my test quote and no luck.

I had a client call me yesterday asking about her quote we sent her but it doesnt show read either.

What triggers the date read and time read in the log?

it seems that my quotes are going out correctly but when viewed it is not sending back to IO to capture the information for the log

This is triggered by viewing a hidden image in the email. Many email clients have image viewing off by default because spammers use this technique. There is no good way to determine whether an email is read or not. We do our best, but it is not a reliable statistic. If it's marked read, it probably was. If it isn't marked, it may or may not have been read.

What is the difference between *open_image* and *open_url*

they template says they both do the same thing except image says HTMO and url says url

just trying to clarify

Also I forgot to ask..

Do the open variables work on all items, workers, emails, contract, packing list etc?

open_image is probably the one you want to use. It outputs it as in image in the email so that it works correctly. If you use the url one you'll have to build the html portion yourself.

the open_image variables only mark the email as being read. It doesn't work for anything that is not an email template.

Can the open_ be placed anywhere in the document?
