Can you add a link to a customer profile from the lead? Maybe even add a customer history tab?

When you are not editing a lead, the customer's name can be clicked and you can go to their profile. We have an update being made that will allow for this when they are being edited as well.

How about a customer rental history without leaving a quote?

On that customer profile you can click on "leads" and it will show their rental history
