Coupon promotion

I created a coupon promotion. However when you use this, a combination of discounts may occur.

This is something I want to avoid. If they use the coupon, I don't want any other discount added on the quote. Is this possible and how?

Other thing: how is that 'exclude qualifying items for discount' used? What is it used for?

Only one coupon or package can be applied to a quote. You can however have both a special and either a coupon or package on the same quote.

So if you only want want one promotion to be allowed then they should all be of the same type (either all coupons and packages OR all specials).

'exclude qualifying items for discount' is for certain situations where you may say that if they rent a bounce house they get a 2nd bounce house 10% off. You don't want it to apply to the first bounce house, so you could exclude the qualifying item (the first bounce house) from receiving the discount.
