Contracts being sent to the wrong customer

For some strange reason, the contract for LEAD# 961913 was emailed to LEAD# 962702.


Customer (LEAD# 962702) screenshot the contract and emailed it to me to let me see the issue. I forwarded this email to the sales@inflatableoffice.com email address for your review.

We haven't had any other users reporting anything similar, and we haven't modified the code to this area recently. It would be very difficult to know exactly what caused this without being able to reproduce it.

Where in the site were you when you emailed the contract to the customer/ how did you send it to the customer? Were you on the lead's "contract" tab, and clicked the "email..." button at the bottom of the page?

Did you let the content load by itself, or did you copy/paste it from somewhere else (this would cause the link to be wrong if you copied the content from another lead)?


On another note:

I can see the log of lead 962702 and it has some odd activity happening:


6/1/20155:13:00pm- You created the lead for Sandra ID# 962702

5:13:23pm- You change the status to Contracted

5:13:31pm- You email the customer the contract (this is the email with the wrong contract link)

Then 3 minutes later, it shows that you changed the customer's email address, and emailed her again. This contract email was correctly linked.


I don't think the changing of the email address is directly related to the issue you described, but I'm curious about why you were changing the email address then emailing it again so quickly, and the original email address is the one with the wrong contract link.
