Contract email error if lead status not manually changed

We currently require a rental associate to approve leads before allowing customers to sign the contract; however, we're finding that if we forget to manually change the lead status from "quote" to "contracted", the contract link that gets sent to the customer via email displays an invalid link and ultimately displays an error page for them.

Is there a way to either have the status automatically changed from quote to contracted when an email is sent with the contract? Can we send the email with the status in quote status?

Or is there a way to have a system check so that IO will not let us send a contract link via email if the status hasn't been changed as a reminder? Pop up a message saying "please change status" etc?

Thanks

This functionality works with the "customer - contract" manual email. It doesn't allow that email to be sent while the lead is not in a contracted status (or higher). You had created a similar email and deactiveated our default contract email that contains this functionality. I've copied your email into ours so you should be good to go.

That's excellent, thank you very much

I see that the email exists in the settings area but when I go to email a contract to a lead, it doesn't exist in the drop down menu. Can you check that out for us?

See attached screenshots.

Thanks

This is because the status of the lead is "quote" still. Or was moved down to quote. You'll want it to remain in contracted if you send the customer a contract and expect them to access it still.

Thank you for the clarification.

Is there any option to choose a default email that us automatically selected when clicking the email button under a lead? Currently customer-quote is default. Can it be changed to customer-contract?

unfortunately not, but I'll bring your request to our development team.
