You have a custom report in this account titled something like "nikki's preferred view" with a "sort by" set to something else. I would recommend essentially rebuilding the "coming events" canned filter by making your own and saving it.
You could have an event date filter of "next 365 days" with irrelevant statuses unchecked. Sort by event date by clicking on that column, then save.
