Is there a way to make it so if they book the job they have to pay the deposit right away or it won't become a contract? I have a lot bookings where they don't pay the deposit right away and it holds the item(s) to where they do not get rented. When I call to follow up they say I didn't book that I just got a quote.

We've started to notice that perhaps a solution to this is the change the phrasing on the Quote Confirm page button. The default phrase on the button says "Book This Event." However I think customers just get curious what that button does and they click it. Perhaps changing the phrase to "Book and Pay Deposit Now" will prevent this.

We could also change the status Contracted so that it is not reserving rentals at all until the event is in the "confirmed" status with the deposit paid and contract signed.

Which would you like (or both)?

I've changed the button for both of you. The status changes are a bigger deal. I want to look into all that you need to know and let you know before we make that change. It changes the way many things work.

Some users don't want to reserve equipment unless a customer signs and pays their contract. This is possible by editing the Contract status and changing it to not reserve equipment. When this is done, the first customer to sign and pay the deposit for a lead will reserve the equipment. Other customers that try to sign or pay later get an error message saying the contract is no longer valid.


This is what I would like to do if possible.

This is done. Please take special note of anything that's currently in the contracted status to make sure you didn't want it to be considered "confirmed" instead, such as leads 2726811 & 2734243 that signed their contract but didn't make a payment; or lead 2754955 which paid but didn't sign.

We have set our statuses to include a "hold" status which are quotes without a contract and or payment. they stay in hold until we get a contract and or payment then it moved to confirmed. It also gives us an automatic calling list on all holds to see if they want to confirm. I mean we call quotes to but holds in our system take priority.
