Adding Existing Items on Lead Through Search Bar

When searching for an item using the search bar in the Event Tab, clicking on the searched inventory doesnt add quantity to the order if the item is already on the order. This has lead to a few errors. Can clicking on the searched item up the existing quantity or at least give warning to the user that the items already is on the lead?
