A payment processed 2x, but never re-entered

Trying to figure out why a customer's card was charged 2x, yet we only entered it once. I peronally entered the card info, and once completed, went back to the lead screen and changed the status to "Deposit Paid".


I never re-entered the card info, nor did I re-click the "authorize payment" pop-up which now always shows up when we run a credit card. Also, the amount paid was different than the deposit amount or balance due...so the $100 amount would've also need to be re-entered. Any explanation for this?

The 2nd payment came in 3 minutes later, so I'm guessing that the contract page got refreshed after you made the payment causing it to re-submit the payment. Normally when this happens the browser will warn you about re-submitting a form and also if it's done within 2 minutes the payment will decline.
