do newsletters go to leads or only customers??

Even though I have been an IO person for over 10 years now, there's still things I dont know!
I am sending out a once a year promotion and used it as a "Newsletter"
My intentions were to send it to EVERYONE I have in my database whether it was just an email address of an future client, a quote of someone that requested or a completed event.
Do "Newsletters" only go to the "Customer" list (people we have NOT done business with)
And I noticed Newsletters do not show up on their logs.

It will send to every lead. If you don't put in restrictions everyone will get it. I BELIEVE it won't duplicate for customers with multiple leads. So the total sent may say 10k but if you have 1k of duplicate emails then it will only actually send to 9k. those 1k won't get it twice.

I dont believe it sends to "Leads" unless its preset through the filters. I actually have a call setup with Gabrielle tomorrow to discuss! Not sure why its so difficult this time around! but they always make it so simple when its explained!
