TAX ISSUES
Solved
Those of us in Illinois are now required to charge sales taxes on rentals as of 1/1/25
I am trying to get this set-up in IO but the tax rate isn't changing, it is showing as 7% for every lead regardless of location. Our sales taxes are based on state, county , and city. How do I set this up in IO for the correct rate to show up based on county and city?
Thanks
Settings>tax preferences. If you don't tell IO to do a flat rate, it will pull the records from your state to determine tax rates...I think. And it combines them into one percentage

Yes...be sure to clear any overrides you have in Settings-->Tax Prefences. That way each lead will calculate the tax rate by location

Regardless of having a flat rate set or not, every lead is stuck on 7% for some reason. I have played with all the settings and cannot get IO to automatically call a tax rate.

Susan, I cleared the overrides. Tried doing back up only, tried not setting a flat tax rate at all. Regardless of what I change in tax preferences the tax rate will not change from 7% (which is not the correct tax rate for any location around here) on any lead that I have tested.

Illinois is origin based for sales tax. Checking your company address, it is calculating correctly at 7%.

Anthony, thank you I thought I read otherwise. My mistake
