Track demand for items unavailable

I am trying to find a way to determine if customers are looking for items that are not available. For example, we have 1 dual lane 19 foot slide. I would like to know if people are looking to reserve that even if it is already not available due to it being booked that date. Is there any flag or way to see if someone tries to add it to cart when its not available, or a method to capture that data so I could determine if that happens multiple times it would be good to purchase another of that type.

This is why we show everything as always available. You could show available and only show availability AFTER they get to the cart, that way you've captured their info and even maybe make a suggestion towards another one for the time being.


We have optional fields on leads for us to fill out when an item isn't available so we can build reports based on what those fields and tell what we may need to buy.
