Invoice is prompting customer to make full payment

When sending the invoice to my customers, it's prompting them to make the full payment, even though they've made the deposit already. For example: waterslide rented for $225, deposit was paid weeks ago, when sending remaining balance, when following the link, it prompts them to pay the $225... not the remaining balance.
