How to integrate PayPal onto website, so that my customers can pay online?

I've searched through the Knowledge Base and Topics for 2 hours now, but can't seem to figure out how to integrate PayPal onto my website so that my customers can book online. When they go through the book now link, all they get is a message that says "someone will be in contact with you shortly." I want my customers to be able to pay once they receive the quote.
I've entered my PayPal email address into Merchant Services and have followed "Accepting Credit Cards Online" guide, but it's still not integrating.
Do I need to input my API username instead of my PayPal email address? If so, does it need to be a Signature or a Certificate? How long do the changes take to integrate once I've made the update? Thank you!
