How to send costumers automated email reminders and promotions in the future

I want to send past costumers “reminder emails” in the future but I want these emails to automatically send on a specific future date. How do I set that up? Also what is the repeat costumer check box option as shown in attached picture is it connected with future promotional emails being sent?
