Reverse/cancel a newly initiated card txn
Answered
I just attempted to process a refund, but accidentally charged the card. Can I undo the charge, or edit the amount?
This is using the payments section of the lead, and the merchant is Global Payments.
I assume that typing a '-' before the amount in the transaction history and saving the lead won't turn it into a refund, and that deleting the transaction will just make it disappear from the lead, not actually cancel it.
I know I can just issue a refund, but I'd like to save myself the embarrassment of making the mistake in the first place, avoid any questions from the customer once they see their bank statement, and I don't want to pay processing fees on the charge, the extra mistaken charge, and the refund if I can help it.
you have 2 options
if you want to just do a refund you can do it in the lead
if you want to reverse it you do it through the globlal merchant portal
if you do the portal option be sure to delete the payment out of your lead payment history

I voided the charge in the GP OpenEdge Mobile app. Not sure if that will save me on fees, but at least it will save me the embarrassment part!
