copying price and it replaces the original price

when I am going to copy a price it ends up replacing the original price. this is what happened a few times lately, but most recently when editing the whackamole price and copied it and made a new dunk tank price then went back and the whack a mole price was gone, it was replaced by the new dunk tank price.
The same problem
If you are using "Save and Close" it should make you also change the name before you can do this. So is it changing the name and the price of the original? I am trying this on my account and cannot get it to do this. Even if I do "copy & close" it still wants a new name but doesn't override the original. I will have a developer take a look at the database and see if they can see what happened with the whackamole
