How to reflect a booking has been cancelled within IO

A customer want to cancel their event. I’ve already issued a refund for the 50% deposit they paid. Now I would like to reflect that their deposit was refunded. I just don’t want to change the status to “cancel” as the system would still show I collected the deposit but it was refunded. What do I need to do to back out that deposit that was refunded before I change the status to cancel? Thanks!

Are you trying to remove the deposit from the lead? Can you please clarify.

Yes, I’m trying to remove the deposit, since I’ve refunded their money. I’ve tried to put a negative and click the “+” button, but they did not work. I don’t want to click on the “charge card” because I’ve already refunded their money and I don’t want it to refund it twice if I click on “charge card” with negative amount

You are recording the refund correctly by entering the negative amount in the payment section and clicking the "+". Be sure you are selecting the "Type".

You will not be able to issue a refund to the card in our software with Square.
