Marking items inactive seasonally

Is there a way to make an item inactive without affecting the child items? For example, I have several slides that are suitable for use with water or as a dry slide. Right now for summer, I'd like to make the child items (the dry slide version inactive). I can do that easily by marking the child inactive, but is there a way to make the water slide version (which is the parent) inactive but still have the dry slide child item available?

You would have to unlink them before making them inactive.

Are you wanting to completely delete your waterslides from your account or are you wanting to make them unavailable to customers until a later date? If you want to simply block them off until a later date, you can follow the steps on this article to put these items in maintenance.
