Cannot change surface while editing packing list item

I keep getting this error message when trying to edit & correct packing list for an item. I close out and go back in only to have the same issue. It won't even allow me to toggle between surface types any longer. If I delete the row and reenter, then try to save I get the error message "Error: Save packing list row being edited."
This is not quite as intuitive and easy to use as the previous software. We don't like the software changes at all. Costing us efficiency constantly by not being as simple and user friendly.
