resizing the pictures on website

I have been fighting with resizing images on the website. after I get the image how i like it the image stretches, or looks different on phone mode as well as website any ideas on how to overcome this? The video displayed for changing pictures shows its as easy as drag and drop but it is not and could possibly be the dimension issue. i also ran into an issue where i had to change the file type to jpeg for it to even show up. attempted to take pictures using Iphone of my son in the new rental to post on the site. not sure if its not compatible or if im doing something wrong. any advice is appreciated.

How are you putting the pictures in? What's the video you're following? I put all mine up in canva and size them to fit 650x650px.

I've moved the image from the column to it's own image element. It appears without getting cut off on mobile when I view it now.
