Customers attempting to access unavailable contract

Since the 19th I've gotten bursts of emails saying that particular clients are attempting to access an unavailable contract. First of all--I do appreciate that this email exists. Very helpful. However, I don't see anything in the logs and there's no reason for me to believe that starting last month multiple clients would be repeatedly trying to access contracts for completed events from months/years ago.

Here are the affected leads thus far:

50649033 - 6x on 6/19

58210857 - 4x (so far) on 7/2

58210857 - just now (7/2)

This has happened to other users, and from what the developers have said is that someone is actually clicking on the contract link in order for this alert to go out.

Per Developer:

There is really nothing we can do. You can change the status of the lead to stop this alert from sending? Someone or something is accessing the link.
