Is automatically sending pricing and availability request to vendors? Can I control that by vendor and where is the general preference for that?

yes. very simple.

Settings > Vendors > Add Vendor

I don't see where I can control if they are sent a pricing and availability email.

If a vendor is assigned to a lead this email does go out automatically if it's turned on, it's not a setting per vendor.

When a quote is created w/ an vendor item on it the vendor gets the availbility/pricing email automatically if it's active

Sorry. I am not being very clear. Is there anyway to turn this feature off so that I can do it manually not automatic?

The problem is that you have to send manual vendor emails from the PO section and you can ONLY send the PO email from that area...you cannot send additional vendor emails manually like you do from the customer templates. This has to be an auto email or it doesn't go out.

I understand and I do have vendors that I put in their items and then I manually click on the request availability. The email goes out manually but what's happening is the system is also sending out automatic emails to vendors I don't want it to send to.

Maybe put a "dummy" email in for their email? Until you are ready to send the PO? Put in an email that won't work and is "unsubscribed"? Then when you are ready to send PO enter correct one?

May be kind of a pain but it might work. There's some plans in the future for new features for those of you who use vendors a lot..I will ask for more emailing options to be put on that list

We have the Vendor - New Quote email disabled and manually send it from each lead for each vendor as needed.
