Consumables Low Inventory notification

Is there a way to get some sort of notification that a consumable is low instead of waiting till it's zero or negative?

For what it is worth, in my other world(healthcare) we set our reorder point as the PAR level. That is the point at when the system tells us to reorder. We adjust that basied on how long, qty needed to order etc. Maybe if the system could add a colum for PAR Level, then we can trigger that report.
