Global payments or Fiserv?

I am new to IO and credit card processing for my bouncer business. Based on your personal experience which one should I go with? I have narrowed it to only these 2 processors. Thank you!

Fiserv is new to all the features and not many have actually used fiserv as it sits now so It will be hard to say. HOWEVER, most HATE global payments.

Hey Susan! I went through this same decision not too long ago. (I will second what Chad B. said above.)

Fiserv is still pretty new to IO, so I haven't seen much real-world user feedback yet. That can be a good or bad thing depending on how you feel about being an early adopter.

Global Payments has been around on IO for a while, but if you dig through the community posts, you'll notice a pattern. A lot of users have run into issues with contracts that are hard to get out of, unexpected fees, and charges that weren't clearly communicated upfront. It's one of those things where the initial pitch sounds fine, but the details in the fine print can bite you.

We actually use Square and have been happy with it.

Hope that helps!

Great to see you in the community Susan!

I’ll let the other owners weigh in with their experiences, and I definitely recommend comparing rates, but these are some trusted voices. You can find plenty of opinions across community forums on this topic.

So, I'll just speak to the new Fiserv option to clear up some of that uncertainty. The biggest positives are the native features: it handles direct refunds and Workers App direct payments. The rates are straightforward and managed by the same company handling your software and website, which we believe is a more accountable and trustworthy relationship. Plus, you don't have to worry about 'rate creep' over time.

The main downside is what's mentioned...that it's still the new kid on the block, so we’re still getting long-term user feedback. The users who have transitioned so far haven't seen any interruptions to their business, and nearly all have seen rate improvements. Though the community can correct me if I'm wrong about that. :)
