What would cause my focus keywords on my site to disappear. I have worked on the site periodically through out the last year or so and i had pretty much every page set with focus keywords using RankMath. Now it seams almost every page i had the keywords disappeared. or is this something that will be an ongoing thing i will have to keep up?

I'm not sure why they disappeared. I can tell you that those are just used for Rankmath to audit the page for recommendations, there should be no changes or impact made as a result of them disappearing.

I haven't heard about them disappearing before but I wouldn't bother re-entering them for everything, maybe just use them on the pages you're most concerned about, its purely for your use Google wont see any of that stuff.

ok so i think IO reset my rankmath because i was having 404 issues on a few links. that could be the problem. I didnt realize that the focus keywords inside rankmath snippet and the elemenor SEO tab was just for rankmath to help me better optimize site. i thought if they werent set then neither was google. thanks

I just realized I helped you on Friday to fix those 404's. When I did that re-generation it wouldve reset the Rank-math focus keyword on each of those pages, sorry about that.

its all good. thanks for the help i just didnt realize the focus keyword didnt have to do with google and just helped me use rankmath. i was more concerned with messing up my SEO with google.
