Set Default Contract for Specific Items

At one point when first setting up IO I figured out how to have wedding equipment use one of my contract templates while inflatables used a different template. I now have a third template contract but can't figure out how to associate the items it's designed for with it.

I also want to make sure it still works when inflatables and event equipment are combined--currently when a client gets both the contract shows the information required for both (not using the "additional details" feature in the inventory item itself) without duplicating info shared between them.

Sounds like you are looking for the extra contract details, which can be set per item in the Settings--Inventory under the advanced settings in the item page.

No, I'm aware of and use that, but that's not what I'm describing.

Talon, Did you figure this out? Do you have code in your contract template that inserts terms based on the type of event, or something like that? I have different contracts for each delivery type, with additional sections that get added to my contracts based on which state the event is in, and other variables. I might have talked to you about this a long time ago and got you going in that direction.

I have not figured this out yet.

You might be right--the whole "pick contact based on delivery type" thing sounds familiar, but I can't find that setting anywhere. That would be a partial fix, but I have boilerplate text for all inflatables that I don't want to have to copy/paste to every item's "extra contract details", and the same goes for linens, and for tables/chairs, etc. Plus everyone getting more than one inflatable would get duplicated contract info.

If someone just wants linens, I don't want all the inflatables, tables/chairs, etc. stuff to be on their contract. However, if someone books a big event with inflatable delivery but includes tables/chairs/linens etc. I need the contact to include all relevant stuff, not just the stuff tied to the "inflatable delivery" option.

I'm not sure how others are making this work best.

There is a way to do this exactly as you are describing. The process will seem daunting at first, but it is great once you get it up and going. I see you in my email from a conversation in 2024. I'm going to email you.
